"CITIUS, ALTIUS, FORTIUS"
Faster Higher Stronger
The sense of the motto is that being first is not necessarily a priority, but that giving one's best and striving for personal excellence is a worthwhile goal. To achieve "New Balance."
What better place is there to showcase ultimate athletics with millions of spectators cheering you on?
Check out the 40 Team NB members among the top athletes in the world that surpassed the average and achieved their goals of making it to this year's Olympic Games.

It's an honor just to get that far but some have even taken the spotlight to a photo finish.
Congratulations are in order for Juri Jaanson and Tonu Endrekson, from the Estonian Team NB, taking silver in men's double sculls rowing just 0.05 seconds ahead of Great Britain.

NB team members yet to compete include:
Adrian Blincoe (Men's 5000m Heat on 8/20)
Megan Metcalfe (Women's 5000m Heat on 8/19) FYI Megan loves the NB running 754 model. The most recent update to this model is the 757.
The games have come a long way since the first official events were held. In 1896 there was no event that the Greek hosts wanted to win more than the 40,000m marathon race. On April 10th, Spyridon Louis ran straight to the gold medal in shoes that were donated to him by his fellow villagers, leaving his competitors behind with a 7 minute lead.
Today we have New Balance. When asked how it feels to be part of the NB team, many team members responded, "It's great to be among the elite, both athletes and staff." Other responses included, "Knowing you have such invaluable support is everything. Being a team NB athlete feels like being part of a very close knit unit." A close knit unit...or one may even say a village.
Good luck to all our NB team members and Team USA!
Fan of the 826? You're in good company! The 826 is a favorite of US Olympian Josh McAdams.
